It is a great exercise regime to help your body return to normal after delivery.
Postnatal exercises involve a series of slow, gentle and progressive movements that focuses on core abdominal and pelvic floor strength which is hugely affected after delivery.
Pilates focus on breathing helps you to become relaxed so that you will be able concentrate effectively on yourself as well as your baby. Because of the postural mal-alignment forced on your body by the growing weight of the baby during pregnancy postural correction exercise routine is developed for each client.
If you had normal delivery than you can safely return to Pilates within 4 to 6 weeks of delivery. If you had a C-section we would advise you to start Postnatal sessions from 8 to 12 weeks after delivery.
Before enrolling yourself for postnatal Pilates, kindly take consent from your gynaecologist.
